Minister for Investments and Development explained a 240 mln. USD loan for reconstruction of road Aktobe-Makat.
It will be spent more than 240 mln. USD for reconstruction of almost 300 kilometers of a two-lane road section of “Aktobe-Makat”.
Minister for Investment and Development, mr. Zhenis Kasymbek, explained cost of works. “299 kilometers of reconstructed road will include more than 150 various engineering structures, 11
crossings, 39 cattle-tracks. It's not just a two-lane road, it's a 15-meter wide road bed. That is road of the second category, it means that it is upgraded to an improved plus. Type of pavement is asphalt-concrete and axle load will be 13 tons. Today it is 6-8 tons at that road section, thus, strength characteristics of the road will exceed the existing in several times”, – the minister explained.
Mr. Kasymbek noted that cost of roads per kilometer of the corresponding category is in 8-10 times more expensive in Europe, and it is in one and a half – two times more expensive in Russia.
"We do not envisage that it will be toll road," – the minister added. We remind that, deputies approved ratification of the Loan Agreement (Aktobe – Makat Road Rehabilitation Project, connecting CAREC Corridors 1 and 6) between Kazakhstan and Asian Development Bank. The loan amount is 240.3 mln. USD and expected repayment period is 18 years.
